Community Counseling & Training Clinic
New Visions Wellness Center, Inc. is committed to serving the mental health needs of our community and the training needs of counselors.
Counselor Trainees (CT) provide FREE and low cost mental health services to the community. These services include short term, solution focused counseling that is aimed at identifying problems, assessing needs, setting goals, and developing a plan of action to accomplish goals. CT also provide FREE and low cost wellness groups on various topics and educate the community about mental health through outreach efforts.
Licensed counselors are also available to provide mental health therapy for clients who may have more intense issues or require extensive services. Our counselors also conduct a variety of therapy groups, and are available to conduct educational workshops, specified training seminars, and wellness retreats for organizations and groups.
Our services are focused on disadvantaged groups, particularly BIPOC, women and girls, and lower socioeconomic communities.
For privacy and convenience, services are provided virtually on HIPPA compliant platforms and are also provided in person at specified locations in the community.
We have a diverse group of counselors from different social groups and with different levels of training and experience. The clinic is set up on a tiered, mentor-based system, where counselors on all levels are assisted with career development, from master’s level graduate students in field experience courses to Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisors. Our student trainees are volunteers, which allows us to make mental health services accessible to anyone in the community regardless of one’s insurance situation or ability to pay.
